Anne Freeman, NIC

Anne graduated from Shenandoah College in Winchester VA with a BS in Therapeutic Recreation. She then toured with a Deaf drama ministry called “The Tenth Coin”, learning about the need for and importance of Deaf leadership in Deaf ministry.
After working for thirteen years as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in a variety of settings, serving People with Disabilities, Anne attended and graduated from the ITP at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. She also completed ministry training through TEE (Theological Education by Extension) and became an ordained deaconess through the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination. She passed the interpreter state screening in Massachusetts and then the NIC exam through RID. She now works in the Boston area as a freelance ASL interpreter. Anne serves as the Coordinator of New England Deaf & Hard of Hearing Ministry, an adjunct ministry of TABCOM (The American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts) working with both Deaf leadership and interpreters in the New England region, across denominational lines.
Anne is married, lives in Boston and has a child, a cat, loves to cook, quilt and make scrapbooks.
