Jeff Rivers
Jeff has been a lifelong resident of Louisiana. He has worked in the field of deafness for the past 27 years. The first 17 years were as case manager, instructor and workshop facilitator for the Betty and Leonard Phillips Deaf Action Center and the remaining years as a contract interpreter and webcast presenter.
Jeff is also a “cradle Catholic”. Jeff attended Catholic school and has been active in the Church throughout his adult life. Jeff has been a team member for the local Cathedral’s adult religious education program for nearly two decades, has interpreted in the Catholic setting for the past 26 years and has been a co-facilitator for Deaf retreats within the Diocese of Shreveport.
Jeff currently holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and works as a RN Clinician with the Louisiana State University Health System. He also teaches American Sign Language in his local community college. He continues to remain active in both the Catholic Church and the Deaf Community.
